The legacy of a figure skating event such as the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 is of great importance for the sports movement overall but also for the sports association locally. Future interest in figure skating, appreciation and support for the sports movement is directly affected by the legacy an event creates. Legacy have affects long after the events end. A definition of legacy can simply be phrased as: ”All material and immaterial effects that remain after an event”. Legacy is based on seven types of capital; natural capital, human capital, Physical capital, financial capital, cultural capital, social capital and political capital. These seven capital are interchangeable and can also be linked together.
