Volunteers FAQ.

Volunteers will carry out a variety of essential tasks and roles at the official hotel, main rink and practice rinks. There are several different areas in which volunteers may choose to work. An overview regarding the different areas can be found in the volunteer application.

Volunteer positions will be assigned based on positions availability, individual´s background and experience. Where possible, your preference will be considered.

Volunteers are requested to be available for the period they are applying for. A normal volunteer day will be six to eight hours, including breaks.

Many factors are taken into consideration when selecting volunteers for ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021. These include successfully completing the volunteer application, successfully completing criminal records check and accepting the position offered. Volunteers able to contribute a minimum of 20 hours will be given priority in the selection process.

It is possible that volunteers may work in more than one area depending on their skill set and availability.

Yes you can. But people from Sweden with a figure skating background have priority in the selection process. Next the general population in Sweden have priority. After that people with previous experience with figure skating events from other countries will have priority in the selection process.

The deadline for the volunteer application is August 31. After that we will go through all the applications and let you know as soon as possible. Once you have been approved and assigned to a specific area, a team leader will contact you to discuss details regarding scheduling and job function etc

Unfortunately we cannot accept requests for volunteer position changes once assigned. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding regarding this matter.  Please note, however that the role or area you have been assigned to may change in the lead up to the event. When this is required we will give notification as soon as possible. There may also be times on-site where you are asked to assist in another volunteer area.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to watch the competitions pending on seat availability, we cannot guarantee available seats. We ask the volunteers to remove their accreditation tag and change from their volunteer clothing. If the ticket holder for the seat arrives, we ask the volunteer to quickly and quietly move to a new seat.

Volunteers who need accommodation can get help from the Organizing Committee with booking rooms at the Motel L By Ligula – Hammarby Sjöstad. You will not be reimbursed for the expenses of the accommodation, this also includes travel, and/or mileage and other expenses.

Every volunteer will get a food ticket for every 8 hours work shift depending on the scheduling. Those who work full days, from early morning to late evening, receive two food tickets. Except for the hot meals there will also be coffee, tea, fruit and sandwiches throughout the days. The food and beverage will be found in the volunteer lounge.

All volunteers will receive a volunteer clothing that must be worn during working hours. You will be able to keep these clothes after the event. Exactly what type of clothes are different depending on the working group and will be clarified later on.
